*² Myopia management
Myopia management or control refers to various methods and treatments aimed at slowing down the progression of nearsightedness (myopia) in children. It typically involves interventions such as specialised contact lenses, orthokeratology (corneal reshaping), atropine eye drops, and certain types of eyeglasses.
Myopia management can be performed by different eye care professionals, including optometrists and ophthalmologists who specialise in paediatric and/or refractive eye care. These professionals will conduct a comprehensive eye examination to assess a child’s vision and determine the most appropriate myopia control method based on their specific needs and eye health.
Advice on treatment
We believe it is important to allow time during your consultation for you to ask questions about your optometrists findings. Time is allocated for questions within your appointment to allow questions, if however, extra time is required we may need to arrange a further appointment either face to face with your optometrist or by telephone. Because this involves practitioner time then this consultation will be chargeable.
